Gerry has over 20 years experience in real estate sales and investment. A Licensed Broker since, 1975, Gerry worked at Terragreen Properties leasing and selling commercial property prior to joining Weber Real Estate in 1978. Gerry incorporated CMS Real Estate Ltd. in 1983 and currently specializes in development or re-development of commercial, industrial or residential sites.
Gerry has been successfully operating Mortgage Investment Corporations (MICs) for years. He has been instrumental in managing MICs that have consistently produced double-digit net returns. In fact, from 2001 to the end of 2007, investors have seen an annual rate of return 10.65% on their Crossroads-DMD MIC investments.
Gerry was awarded his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation on October 15, 1988 and after completing the Certified Commercial Investment program. This is an invaluable resource to the commercial real estate owner, investor, and user, and places Gerry among an elite corps of more than 9,000 professionals who hold the CCIM designation across North America and more than 30 countries.
Gerry is also the President and a Director and Shareholder of: DMD Mortgage Investment Corporation; DMD II Mortgage Investment Corporation; DMD III Mortgage Investment Corporation; DMD IV Mortgage Investment Corp; DMD V Mortgage Investment Corp; and Sun Country Mortgage Investment Corp. These other mortgage investment corporations are active in the Calgary marketplace.
MAUREEN MACDONALD
CMA, Secretary-Treasurer, Accountant, Property Manager, Associate Broker & Agent
Maureen completed her CMA in 1986, and, has worked in the real estate, property management, investment and development industry since 1988. Maureen had over 10 years experience as Controller with a general contractor and developer. She has been involved in all aspects of construction, development, financing and management.
Maureen has provided residential property management services to many of Gerry Macdonald's clients, successfully managing numerous residential, commercial and industrial properties for over twenty years.
Utilizing her associate broker licensing, Maureen has well versed and has a long history of completing leasing and sales in industrial and residential areas. Maureen also manages the office support staff and overseas the Mortgage Investment Corporations portfolio multi-million dollar portfolio.
GERRY GARVEY
Mortgage Broker and Commercial & Residential Agent
With over 30 years experience in the mortgage lending industry, Gerry has intimate knowledge of industry trends and tendencies as well as expertise in MICs. A 1976 Business Administration graduate from Red River College in Winnipeg, MB, Gerry believes learning is life-long commitment. He has continued upgrading his skills and training, completing the Canadian Securities Course. He has also attended numerous courses over the years at the University of Calgary in Commercial Real Estate Finance and International Finance at Calgary’s Mount Royal College.
Gerry has arranged many different types of financing; from a condo project in Mexico; to condo conversions; to construction financing of all types of commercial and industrial properties. A special talent for creative financing and structuring complex financial arrangements traditional institutions are unable to get done, Gerry has also arranged syndications, real estate tax shelters, and equity financing.
Gerry remains active in his community. He serves on the board of directors of The Backdoor, an organization that helps street kids get off the street. Professionally, he also is actively involved with the Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association, helping raise over $100,000 for an affordable housing project. A fundraiser for the University of Calgary music dept. and also for the Arctic Research Institute, based at the University of Calgary, Gerry is well plugged-in to the Calgary community.
Robert Dressler
Vice-President and DirectorRobert is presently a shareholder in Crossroads-DMD Mortgage Investment Corporation and is retired. Robert resides in Coldstream, B.C. with his spouse Marian Dressler, who is also a director of Crossroads-DMD Mortgage Investment Corporation. Robert owns and manages Pro-test Services Ltd. and continues to provide consulting and financial advice to numerous clients. Robert is also Vice-President and a Director and Shareholder of DMD Mortgage Investment Corporation; DMD II Mortgage Investment Corporation; DMD III Mortgage Investment Corporation; DMD IV Mortgage Investment Corp; DMD V Mortgage Investment Corp; and Sun Country Mortgage Investment Corp. These other mortgage investment corporations are active in the Calgary marketplace.
James Devlin
Secretary-Treasurer and Director
James is the President of Devco Management Ltd. and involved in the ownership of Devco Management Ltd. since 1992. Devco Management Ltd. is a company involved in the management of mortgage investment corporations.
James is the Secretary/Treasurer and a shareholder of DMD Mortgage Investment Corporation, DMD

David Baker
David is a professional engineer specializing in wind energy (wind facility development). From 1985 to the beginning of 2008, David owned and operated his own wind engineering firm known as Phoenix Engineering Inc. His company was purchased by GENIVAR Inc. in 2008 and he is now operating his division as Vice President, Wind Energy. He began investing with Gerry Macdonald in both DMD and in other commercial real estate ventures in 2001. Since then he has significantly expanded his holding as well as brought many of his family and friends into the DMD investment.
